Matou is a modern pan Asian restaurant, cocktail bar and lounge. It is located in a privileged position overlooking the vibrant dock waterfront area of Liverpool, and one of the city's renowned land marks, the Pier Head. Matou provides the ultimate in fine dining merging dishes from the Far East including Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, China and includes a tempting selection of signature fusion dishes.

The Restaurant

The restaurant is situated on the second floor of Liverpool’s new Ferry Terminal boasting breathtaking views of the River Mersey and one of Liverpool’s most famous icons, the Liver Birds. The stunning main dining area overlooking the river seats up to 120 people. The sophisticated bar and lounge comfortably accommodates 100 people.

There is an impressive outside terrace which is capable of catering for at least 300 people indulging in drinks and al-fresco dining. The terrace has spectacular views of Liverpool Waterfront and the prestigious buildings of the Pier Head making it the ultimate venue for special occasions and events.

The restaurant also has an exclusive lounge and dining area for 50 people. It is ideal for private functions or special events providing exclusivity of the highest standard.

At Matou, innovative pan-Asian cuisine, delicately engineered music and an easy flowing space turns any ordinary evening into an exotic adventure.

Please note: All bookings are enquiries only and will require confirmation from Matou via email.

For tables of 6 people or more on a Friday and Saturday night, deposits of £5 per person are required. An optional service charge will be added to tables of 6 or more.

Tables of 7+ may require a £5 deposit on Sunday – Thursdays, which will be stipulated upon booking confirmation from Matou.

Tables on Friday and Saturday evenings are subject to two hour time slots.
